Manali – Rotang Pass [13,050ft]- Gramphu – Tandi – Jaspa
(3142m.) 8hrs. Drive over Rohtang Pass (3970m.) to Lahaul valley, along the Chandra River to Keylong is the district headquarters of Lahaul & Spiti and through the valley of Lahaul, finally to campsite Jispa. It has new Monastery on the left bank of river Bhaga, built to commemorate the auspicious the 18th KALACHKRA initiation by His Holiness the DALAI LAMA in July 1994.
Jaspa to Lake Tso Moriri
(4630m.) 4hrs.through Darcha, Patsao, Zingzing Bar and over Barlacha-La (4892m.) pass, which is one of the most dangerous pass among other, passes on the way to Leh. And one can see one of the most excellent panoramic views of the high rising/sky touching mountains is likely C.B., K.R. (range) and Mulkilla mushrooming mountains massif. And also just on the top of Baralacha- La is having a lake Suraj Tal a source of river Bhaga surrounded by C.B.mountain ranges and gradual descent down through Kalung sarai to Sarchu. Then drive through two high passes are known as Nakee La and Lachalang -La (5065m.) and second one just above the Brandy bridge. After Sarchu drive in a curving all the way up to PANG and mountains are without snow/cold desert. And one can see a mountain goats and Ibex in a herds along the roadside.
Tso Moriri to Leh
(Over Tanglang-La 5360m.) 6hrs. Drive through Pang/More extensive plains of the Kyang Chu Thang, which is completely 25 km.flatten straight road up to Devring (4500m). On the plains one can have a chances of tiny colonies of Marmots and the wild herds of Kyung- a ship- like animal (Yak). After the plains a small Gref settlement at Devring is reached, before the breathtaking climb up to the mighty Tanglang-La (5360m.) begins. At Devring point the road goes right up to the pass in a horizontal way and at the foot of the pass Kyang Chu Thang can be seen. At the top of the pass a tiny temple and a few prayer flags flutter in the strong winds that are peculiar of this pass. This is the highest pass and second motor able in the world on the way. After that drive all the way down to Ramsey, an oasis surrounded by barren craggy hills is the first village on the way to Leh and the last village towards the Manali. From Ramsey the whole valley of the Leh region starts and road goes along the river. Finally reaches, in the Himalayas to the mysterious land of Lamas (Monks), the capital-"The Moon land" Ladakh-Leh.Overnight in hotel at Leh.
Leh to Nubra: Through Khardung La (Highest Motorable Pass in the world)
Leh to Khardung -la (5580m.)[18,380ft] that is the highest motor able road in the world. It is 39km.from Leh. From the top you can see Nubra is a tri-armed valley located to the north east of Ladakh valley. Diskit the capital of Nubra is about 150 km north from Leh town, the capital of Ladakh district, India. Local scholars say that its original name was Ldumra. Travelling through Hunder with the sight of the double humped camels only found in the Sahara Desert and Nubra valley. Nubra to Leh
Heading back to Leh. The average altitude of nubra valley is about 10,000 ft. i.e. 3048 metres above the sea level. The common way to access this valley and travel back is the Khardung La pass [17,582ft] again for Leh town.
Leh to Sarchu Camping
The day for the mountain climb race. While heading back to Sarchu we will give you the opportunity to conquer the mountains by yourself. What awaits on the top is a endless spree of satisfaction, a gift from the gods. A surprise. Once the surprise is unwrapped we head back to Sarchu to spend our last night as a group.
Sarchu to Manali
Last day but not the least. As we go back some may choose to PARAGLIDE their way down from rohtang pass. A minimum airtime of 30 to 45 min will get you across the pass and down into the valley.
